Sunfish Fraser Coast runs Angler Education Days for children up to the age of 14.
Angler education is regarded as a high priority function of Sunfish.
The education of young anglers about the resource they are using is an integral part of the 'fishing for the future theme'
Some of the activities undertaken during the day will include
- Simple knots and gear assembly
- Bait gathering
- Casting Practice
- Use of various baits
- Fish habitats and where you are likely to find fish
- Size and Bag limits
- Fish identification
- And of course how to catch fish
All of the tackle will be provided and has been donated by local tackle suppliers.
Drinks and a sausage sizzle will be provided for the juniors.
It is important for the parents to ensure that the children attending have suitable clothing, hats and sunburn cream
Attendance at a clinic also includes a 1 year membership of Sunfish and you will recieve junior newsletters and entry forms for various competitions during the year.
