The DPI DO NOT use Grants as a reference in their coral reef fin fish rules and regulations, therefore fish names may differ from those in the regulations.

The scientific names of coral reef fin fish are stated in schedule 2 of the regulations and the scientific names follow those in the references below—

  1. for bar rockcod, crimson sea perch (small mouth nannygai), goldband snapper, hapuku and saddletail seaperch (large mouth nannygai)—

  2. for eight-bar grouper—
