Rosy Job-Fish (Aprion microlepis Bleeker )
Local Common Names: Rosy Job-Fish or King Snapper

This is a handsome reef-caught fish of more southerly Queensland waters. The general body colour is pale glowing pink; it is silver-white below. The base of each scale on back and sides is bluish with a golden margin. The upper part of the head is deep pink.

The mouth has a rather glum, or unhappy configuration from which the reference to Job may have originated. It takes the name "King Snapper" from the fact that it is often taken by line-fishermen while fishing a shoal of true Snapper
